The Bottom Line of UX: How Does Good Product Design Reduce Losses and Regulatory Mistakes?

BlackSwanCEOsFinTech & RegTech
BlackSwan — Designed the Risk Engine - the platform's most complex surface, where all system logic and high-risk thresholds are defined - into a visual decision system compliance teams could actually own.
For the CEO of a technology or FinTech company, user experience isn't a matter of "looking pretty" — it's a business metric in every sense. In core financial systems, a small human error by a user stemming from an unclear interface can cost the company millions of dollars or heavy regulatory sanctions. When I set out to design BlackSwan's risk management system, the top executive goal was protecting the company's Compliance. By designing a smart interface that highlights anomalies and creates an intuitive alert system, we managed to dramatically reduce the likelihood of human error by analysts. Investing in a well-managed, well-designed product is the direct path to lowering operational risk and increasing the product's market value.
